At the 2025 Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute Brain-Computer Interface and Artificial Intelligence Forum held today, NeuroXess unveiled that its self-developed brain-computer interface product, the first of its kind domestically and the second globally, has successfully finished its first clinical trial. This product is a fully implantable, entirely wireless, and fully functional (“Three-In-One”) brain-computer interface device equipped with an internal battery. The trial was conducted under the guidance of a team led by Professors Mao Ying and Chen Liang from Huashan Hospital, Fudan University. The participant in the trial was a patient who had been living with severe paraplegia for eight years. Remarkably, the patient was moved to a general ward just one day post-surgery and demonstrated successful mind control during the device’s initial activation, which took place five days after the operation. Following a series of systematic training sessions, the patient’s brain-control decoding rate soared to 5.2 BPS, a level on par with the highest international standards.
