On December 12, the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, along with several other departments, recently unveiled the Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of the Artificial Intelligence Industry in Shandong Province (2025–2027). This comprehensive plan outlines strategies to foster innovation in lightweight AI models tailored for on-device deployment. It emphasizes enhancing collaboration between providers of on-device AI models and terminal device manufacturers. The goal is to drive the development of cutting-edge, consumer-oriented smart devices, such as intelligent connected vehicles, smartphones, computers, smart home systems, and wearable technology. Furthermore, the plan advocates for pioneering research in intelligent sensors and encourages the intelligent transformation of high-end CNC machine tools, marine engineering gear, aerospace technology, rail transit systems, and related industries.
