Murata, a worldwide frontrunner in passive components, highlights that artificial intelligence (AI) is driving a massive surge in demand for Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs). Using NVIDIA's latest GB300 platform as a case in point, this platform necessitates roughly 30,000 MLCCs—a quantity approximately thirty times greater than that used in smartphones and three times that in vehicles. Furthermore, the consumption of MLCCs in just one AI server cabinet can soar to as high as 440,000 units. From a demand standpoint, Murata is highly optimistic about the market's prospects for the coming year. The company also forecasts that by 2030, the demand for MLCCs from AI servers will surge by 3.3 times compared to the levels in 2025.
