According to reports, OpenAI intends to launch GPT-5.2 as its initial countermeasure to Google's newest large model, Gemini 3. Earlier, Google's Gemini 3 outshone OpenAI's model in benchmark assessments, causing OpenAI to lose users and see a steady decline in its market share. In a memo, Altman emphasized the necessity for the company to enhance the personalized capabilities of ChatGPT, boost its speed and dependability, and broaden the scope of questions it can tackle. Additionally, he mentioned that the development of projects like AI agents for advertising, health, and shopping has been put on hold to redirect resources towards refining existing products.
