The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has recently unveiled the Implementation Opinions on Promoting High-Quality Development of 'Artificial Intelligence + Civil Aviation'. These guidelines delineate comprehensive requirements and uphold principles such as 'innovation-driven, ensuring safety and controllability, demand-centric, scenario-enabled, prioritizing infrastructure, achieving key breakthroughs, systematic planning, and collaborative progress'. Their aim is to drive the integration and application of artificial intelligence (AI) within the civil aviation sector. According to the opinions, by 2027, China aims to pioneer the integrated development of AI across various facets of civil aviation, achieving initial success in establishing core supporting elements. By 2030, the goal is to realize extensive and profound integration of AI with civil aviation, accompanied by a steady enhancement in governance and safety assurance mechanisms, thereby positioning AI as a pivotal force propelling the growth of civil aviation.
