In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Logitech CEO Hanneke Faber expressed her critique that the majority of consumer-focused AI gadgets currently available in the market are not genuinely tackling real-world problems. Instead, they are offering solutions for "needs that are either non-existent or non-critical." She highlighted that such hardware items frequently linger in the conceptual realm, devoid of authentic use cases that strike a chord with the broader consumer base. For instance, products that generated significant buzz, such as Humane's AI Pin and Rabbit R1, have encountered successive setbacks owing to inadequate functionality, a tarnished reputation, and operational glitches. Nonetheless, Faber is not against AI technology per se—Logitech has already introduced AI-enabled mice—but she maintains that truly beneficial AI hardware is still on the horizon.
