Recently, Meta's CEO Mark Zuckerberg made an announcement that the company is set to establish a brand - new creative studio. This studio will be under the leadership of Alan Dye, who previously served as the Vice President of Human Interface Design at Apple. Dye is going to take on the role of Meta's Chief Design Officer.

Earlier reports have revealed that Dye is set to depart from Apple. After years of leading the human interface design team, he will officially become a part of Meta on December 31. Dye first joined Apple in 2006 and has held the position of Vice President of Human Interface Design since 2015. During his tenure at Apple, he played a pivotal role in the design of products like the Apple Watch and iPhone X. He was also deeply involved in crafting the immersive interfaces for Vision Pro and visionOS. Moreover, he led the development of the 'liquid glass' design for iOS 26.

Once he joins Meta, Dye will be in charge of the integrated design of hardware, software, and artificial intelligence in interactive interfaces. He will report directly to Meta's Chief Technology Officer, Andrew Bosworth.

Apple has confirmed that designer Steve Lemay will step into Dye's shoes and take over his responsibilities.
