As reported by the Economic Times, Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, reaffirmed during a dialogue with Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha, his ambition to reshape the social media platform X into what he calls a "WeChat++" for audiences outside of China. This new iteration of X would integrate a diverse array of features, encompassing not only information dissemination but also financial transactions.
Musk pointed out that WeChat has become a quintessential all-in-one platform within China, enabling users to seamlessly share content, post updates, and perform money transfers, thereby embedding itself deeply into the fabric of daily life. In contrast, he observed, no equivalent application exists on a global scale that can match WeChat's comprehensive functionality.
Consequently, Musk has outlined his vision for X as an "Upgraded Version of WeChat," with the goal of bridging this void in the international market.
