On November 26, Bloomberg reported that HP Inc. disclosed on Tuesday its intention to implement workforce reductions, slashing between 4,000 and 6,000 positions by fiscal year 2028. This strategic move is set to be executed through the increased integration of AI tools. HP anticipates that, by the conclusion of fiscal year 2028, these job cuts will culminate in an impressive annual overall cost savings of $1 billion for the company. During an interview, HP CEO Enrique Lores highlighted that the cost savings will stem from the deployment of AI tools across various operational domains, including product development, customer support, sales, and manufacturing. He underscored the imperative nature of this initiative, stating that it is crucial for maintaining the company's competitiveness in the market.
