Despite widespread discussions about a potential bubble in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, the U.S. is ramping up its investments in this cutting-edge sector. On November 24 (Eastern Time), President Trump signed an executive order, formally launching the 'Genesis Initiative.' This initiative tasks the Department of Energy with establishing an AI experimental platform, pooling resources to develop foundational scientific models, and facilitating the operation of robotics labs. Additionally, it requires the Assistant to the President for Science and Technology to oversee the initiative's coordination, integrating federal data and infrastructure.

Given AI's significant energy demands, this move is viewed as a pivotal strategic maneuver by the U.S. The Trump administration also intends to empower the Department of Justice to challenge state-level AI regulations deemed unconstitutional and to threaten the withdrawal of federal funding from states imposing overly burdensome regulations.

Previously, Trump had unveiled a policy framework encouraging joint investments in automated cloud labs. Notably, in advancing the Genesis Initiative, the Department of Energy prioritized oil and nuclear energy resources, reversing several clean energy initiatives in the process. Meanwhile, discussions about a potential AI industry bubble in the U.S. have reached a fever pitch.

Reports indicate that the Trump administration is contemplating the approval of Nvidia's H200 chip exports to China. On the same day, Amazon announced plans to invest up to $50 billion to bolster its AI and supercomputing capabilities among U.S. government clients. Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder, remarked that while AI is currently experiencing an 'industrial bubble' phase, the sector is poised to deliver enduring technological benefits.
