Tesla's Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk, has made a bold claim: the soon-to-be-unveiled Grok 5 model, developed by his company xAI, possesses a 10% likelihood of reaching Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Musk is of the opinion that the crux of attaining reasoning abilities on par with humans lies in real-time data, as opposed to the static training datasets employed by their rivals.
Grok 5 is anticipated to hit the market in the first quarter of 2026. This advanced model is set to boast an impressive 6 trillion parameters and will be capable of processing not just text, but also images, videos, and audio. Moreover, it will exhibit a substantially higher intelligence density per gigabyte (GB) when compared to its predecessors. Musk also highlighted that xAI's most significant competitive edge stems from its access to real-time data via the social media platform X.
