On November 17 (Beijing Time), Alibaba's U.S.-listed shares experienced a notable 5% surge during after-hours trading, following the announcement of its 'QianWen' project launch. This move marks Alibaba's full-fledged entry into the AI consumer market. On the same day, the public beta version of the QianWen App was rolled out, positioning itself as a direct competitor to ChatGPT in a full-scale market rivalry. Built upon the globally acclaimed open-source model Qwen3, the QianWen App offers its services free of charge. Furthermore, Alibaba has ambitious plans to integrate ecosystem services like mapping, food delivery, and e-commerce, aiming to forge an 'AI lifestyle gateway.' Presently, the public beta version of the QianWen App is accessible on major app stores, accompanied by web and PC versions. The international iteration, tailored for the global market, is also slated for imminent release.
