On the morning of November 15, the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China convened a press conference to expound on the essence of the eighth plenary session of the 15th Provincial Party Committee. The session underscored the need for Zhejiang to expedite the establishment of an artificial intelligence (AI) innovation and development hub during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, aiming to cultivate a sustainable and pioneering development model. Three concrete objectives have been outlined: attaining global preeminence in core technologies and industrial applications of general AI; nurturing a cadre of enterprises with worldwide competitiveness and clout; and achieving an AI core industry revenue of 1.2 trillion yuan among enterprises above a certain scale across the province. Tong Guili, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group at the Provincial Science and Technology Department, emphasized that endeavors will center on three pivotal areas: capturing the technological vanguard, executing the "AI+" strategy, and forging a top-tier development ecosystem.
