A survey published on the 12th by Deezer, a France-based music streaming platform, in collaboration with Ipsos Group, highlighted that individuals are presently nearly incapable of differentiating between music produced by artificial intelligence and that composed by humans. There are concerns that this inability may give rise to copyright complications, which in turn could impact the livelihoods of musicians. On behalf of Deezer, Ipsos Group recruited 9,000 adults from eight countries, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, in early October. These participants were asked to listen to two music clips generated by AI and one piece of music created by an actual human. The survey findings indicated that 97% of the respondents were unable to identify which music was generated by AI, and 52% expressed discomfort over their inability to make the distinction.
