Eric Chan, the Acting Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), announced today that the HKSAR government has rolled out a slew of policies aimed at attracting strategic talents. Among these initiatives is a HK$3 billion support scheme dedicated to pioneering technology research. This scheme is designed to aid Hong Kong's eight universities in recruiting eminent scientists and researchers, as well as in constructing the essential facilities required for groundbreaking research endeavors. Chan emphasized that the HKSAR government is in the process of establishing a cutting-edge science and technology innovation ecosystem. This ecosystem integrates three major science and technology innovation parks with five pivotal research and development institutions. The overarching goal is to broaden the talent base, foster innovation, and contribute to the nation's scientific and technological advancement.
