Recently, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko announced in an official communication that the Russian government is fervently encouraging public officials to engage in learning and applying artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. To facilitate this, the government has ordered the creation of specialized AI courses. The communication highlights the necessity for a flexible training approach, advocating for online courses that can accommodate public officials at every level. This setup allows them to study at convenient times without interrupting their regular work responsibilities.

Grigorenko stressed that for Russia to excel in AI, it is crucial not only to possess cutting-edge technology but also to have a workforce skilled in effectively harnessing this technology. The primary objective of these training initiatives is to boost administrative efficiency. By leveraging AI, public officials can streamline information processing, thereby saving time and reducing costs. However, Grigorenko clarified that the goal is not to replace public officials with AI but to empower them with advanced tools for better service delivery.
