As reported by Windows Latest, Microsoft is currently deploying a tactic to intercept the traffic directed to three prominent AI applications—ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Perplexity—via its Microsoft Edge browser. This approach mirrors Microsoft's previous efforts to redirect traffic from the Chrome browser to Edge. Specifically, whenever users navigate to these three AI chat platforms, a prompt reading "Try Copilot" appears in the address bar of the Edge browser. This serves as an encouragement for users to delve into Copilot, an AI tool that also leverages OpenAI's cutting-edge technology (GPT-5). The underlying objective of this strategy is to bolster the visibility and adoption of Microsoft's proprietary AI assistant, Copilot.

Previously, Microsoft had already taken steps to prioritize Copilot advertisements in search results for pertinent keywords on its Bing search engine. Now, this guiding behavior has transitioned from the realm of search engines to encompass the browser landscape as well.
