On October 20 (local time), Science Corporation—a brain-computer interface company established by Max Hodak, the inaugural president of Neuralink, following his departure from the latter—revealed that the clinical trial results of its self-developed Prima retinal implant had been published in The New England Journal of Medicine. This innovative implant empowers blind patients, who have suffered the loss of their photoreceptor cells, to regain vision for the first time. It achieves this by transmitting visual data captured by an external camera directly to the retinal nerve cells. As a result, patients can discern light signals and basic shapes, with certain individuals even capable of undertaking tasks such as reading texts and solving crossword puzzles.
