Following intervention and communication initiated by the U.S. Department of Justice, Meta shut down a Facebook group page on Tuesday. This page was under accusation of being utilized to "dox and target" agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Chicago. ("Dox" here is a slang term, originating from the abbreviation of "documents". It refers to the act of publicly revealing previously private personal information about an individual or organization, typically via the internet. Using this term makes the description more vivid and in line with online culture.) Attorney General Pam Bondi unveiled the incident in a post on the X platform. She stated that the Department of Justice would persist in working alongside tech companies to eradicate platforms that radicals might exploit to instigate immediate violence against federal law enforcement officers.
