On October 14th, as reported by Business Insider, former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, in an interview with CNBC, asserted that the AI industry is presently in the midst of a bubble. He highlighted that Intel has made a sequence of incorrect decisions over the past 15 years and has been sluggish in its response within the AI sector.
Gelsinger is of the opinion that the currently thriving AI market is merely a bubble. He elaborated, "We are overhyping AI, ramping up investments at an unprecedented pace, and exerting immense pressure on the entire system." Nevertheless, he anticipates that this bubble will not burst in the coming few years.
He also noted that, despite the industry's widespread inclination towards AI transformation, companies have not truly reaped substantial benefits from it as of yet. Other prominent figures in the tech world, including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Alibaba co-founder Joe Tsai, have echoed similar sentiments, believing that a bubble exists in the AI field.
