In a recent interview, Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, delved into the intense AI competition unfolding between China and the U.S. He pointed out that, when taking a holistic view, the U.S. doesn't enjoy a significant lead. In fact, China has an edge in the realm of energy. The U.S., on the other hand, outstrips China by a large margin in several key areas. It boasts a superior position in chip technology, as well as in the development of AI architectures and models. Moreover, AI companies in the U.S. generally demonstrate stronger performance. However, China is taking the lead in applying public information modules. Huang stressed that the AI race isn't solely about technological prowess; it also encompasses application and widespread adoption. Chinese society has shown a high degree of openness and eagerness to embrace new technologies, which has fueled rapid progress in AI applications. He urged the U.S. industry and society to swiftly make necessary adjustments. Huang firmly believes that the key to winning the AI battle lies in the effectiveness of application modules and the extent to which they are disseminated and utilized.
