Recently, whispers have circulated suggesting that Zhipu, a prominent player in the AI sector, is slashing jobs just as it gears up for its Initial Public Offering (IPO). On the evening of October 10, Zhipu stepped forward to clarify, stating that the online false rumors are merely isolated incidents. In fact, the company currently boasts nearly 50 job vacancies up for recruitment. That same evening, a recruitment notice was posted on the company's official WeChat account. On April 14 of this year, Beijing Zhipu Huazhang Technology Co., Ltd. formally registered for tutoring (a preparatory phase for going public) with the Beijing Securities Regulatory Bureau, with an ambitious timeline to wrap up the tutoring process by October 2025. This move positions Zhipu as the trailblazer among the 'Six Little Dragons of Large Models'—a group of companies and startups specializing in large-scale AI models—to officially embark on the IPO journey. The 'Six Little Dragons of Domestic Large Models' encompass six leading enterprises, with Zhipu AI being a notable member.
