The Anhui Provincial Quantum Information Engineering Technology Research Center has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by successfully developing and mass-producing the world’s first four-channel ultra-low-noise single-photon detector. This innovation has set new global benchmarks in several key performance indicators, firmly establishing China’s single-photon detection technology at the forefront of international advancements. Moreover, it provides essential core components for a wide range of applications across multiple fields.
The research and development team has surmounted numerous technical hurdles, effectively lowering the refrigerator's operating temperature and significantly reducing the level of dark noise. The detector incorporates a globally pioneering four-channel integrated architecture, which is notable for its compact size and high degree of integration. This breakthrough overcomes previous limitations, dramatically improving the maximum detection efficiency and enhancing sensitivity to extremely faint light signals.
As a provincial-level engineering technology research center, this institution operates under the auspices of the Anhui Provincial Quantum Information Industry Innovation Research Institute.
