Recently, NVIDIA made headlines by unveiling a massive $100 billion investment in OpenAI, aimed at jointly developing AI infrastructure. However, in a swift turn of events, OpenAI announced a strategic partnership with AMD. Under this agreement, OpenAI will procure graphics cards from AMD worth tens of billions of dollars and will deploy over 6GW of GPU computing capacity in the years ahead. Notably, the first 1GW of this computing power is set to become operational in the second half of 2026.
