On September 15, the National Cybersecurity Notification Center reported that during the 'Huwang-2025' special operation, the public security cybersecurity division discovered that a technology company specializing in foundational data (computing resources) for artificial intelligence model training had not carried out a personal information protection impact assessment as mandated by the Personal Information Protection Law before processing sensitive personal information for biometric identification, such as facial recognition data. Consequently, the local public security authority imposed administrative penalties on the company in accordance with legal provisions and mandated corrective actions.
