At the 2025 Inclusion·The Bund Summit, relevant stakeholders unveiled a report titled "Research and Outlook on Databases for Small and Medium-Sized Banks in the AI Era." The report emphasizes that integrated databases offer the most viable solution for small and medium-sized banks to navigate domestic technological upgrades and the widespread adoption of AI. It also identifies four major trends shaping the future landscape of databases.

Currently, China's banking sector leads the financial industry in domestic database upgrades, with over 50% of banks' core systems having transitioned to distributed databases. Among these, OceanBase commands a significant market share. Experts note that a combination of policy support, technological advancements, and market demand is propelling the banking industry into a pivotal phase of domestic upgrades. Notably, urban commercial banks are outpacing rural counterparts in this transition.

However, small and medium-sized banks encounter numerous hurdles in upgrading their core systems domestically and integrating AI applications, necessitating urgent and effective solutions. The report posits that integrated databases can overcome these challenges by consolidating multiple functions into a single platform, thereby meeting the diverse needs of small and medium-sized banks. Furthermore, the report illustrates the practical benefits of integrated databases in banking operations.

The CEO of OceanBase remarked that integrated databases are well-aligned with the evolving demands of financial services. OceanBase is actively pursuing its "Data × AI" strategy to expedite the implementation of AI technologies within the banking sector.
