As per the documents submitted on Friday, the artificial intelligence firm Anthropic has reached an agreement to disburse a minimum of $1.5 billion to settle a class-action lawsuit initiated by a collective of authors. These writers alleged that the company had illicitly procured books. Consequently, Anthropic is set to pay around $3,000 for each book, in addition to interest, and will also destroy datasets that include pirated content.
