xAI, an AI startup founded by Elon Musk, filed a lawsuit against Apple and OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, in a federal court in Texas, USA, on Monday. The lawsuit accuses both companies of illegally colluding to stifle competition in the field of artificial intelligence. According to the complaint, xAI alleges that the collaboration between Apple and OpenAI is aimed at preserving their respective monopolies in the markets for smartphones and generative AI.
