The Zhejiang Provincial Health Commission, in collaboration with nine other departments, has unveiled the "Zhejiang Province Action Plan for Accelerating the High-Quality Development of 'AI + Medical Health' (2025-2027)." This ambitious plan envisions the establishment of a comprehensive multimodal medical industry framework and the development of a fully autonomous AI research and development (R&D) system, capable of offering universal model services. Furthermore, the initiative outlines the creation of a suite of disease- and specialty-specific models and medical agents, spanning diverse sectors including medical services, health management, public health, drug and medical device R&D, and industry regulation.

Zhejiang will zero in on pivotal areas such as AI data and application, brain-computer interface technology, and new drug innovation. The province aims to execute significant science and technology projects and bolster the scientific research landscape at the intersection of multimodal AI, embodied intelligence, medicine, and pharmacy. Additionally, the plan encourages scientific research institutions to intensify interdisciplinary collaboration within the realm of medical AI, with the aspiration of fostering a plethora of globally influential scientific achievements.
