US-based AI startup Perplexity has submitted an acquisition offer to Alphabet, Google's parent company, to purchase the Chrome browser for a staggering $34.5 billion. In its proposal, Perplexity vows to maintain Chrome's core code as open source and pledges to invest $3 billion within the next two years, all while assuring that the default search engine will remain unchanged.
