Tim Culpan, a tech columnist from Taiwan and a former reporter for Bloomberg, has reported that Apple is contemplating discontinuing the base model of the MacBook Neo, which is priced at $599, due to soaring production expenses. Presently, the MacBook Neo comes in two storage variants: 256GB and 512GB, retailing at $599 and $699 respectively. Should Apple decide to discontinue the 256GB model, the entry price for the MacBook Neo will effectively increase to $699. This move echoes Apple's previous strategies with the Mac Studio and Mac mini, where the company took similar steps to counterbalance rising costs.
