On September 23, Australian AI startup Firmus Technologies is in discussions with lenders for a financing deal worth approximately $10 billion, aimed at procuring NVIDIA chips for its Indonesian data centers. If successful, the deal would become one of the largest AI infrastructure transactions in Asia. According to sources familiar with the matter, Firmus plans to raise around $7.5 billion in debt and $2.5 billion in equity, with a potential financing term of five years. However, Firmus declined to comment. The talks come ahead of Firmus's planned IPO in late October, which is expected to raise up to $5 billion and could become one of the largest IPOs in Australia. The funds raised will be used to purchase GPUs to support the construction of its 360-megawatt NVIDIA DSX AI factory campus on Batam Island, Indonesia. The campus, jointly developed by Firmus and DayOne Data Centers, is part of an eight-year collaboration plan between Firmus and NVIDIA.
