Members of the European Parliament and EU member states have reached an agreement on revising the AI Act, deciding to ban AI-generated "deepfake" pornographic content, with this ban to be included in the 2024 revised provisions. Meanwhile, the implementation timeline for regulatory provisions targeting high-risk AI systems will be postponed. Provisions originally set to take effect in August 2026 and August 2027 will be delayed to December 2027 and August 2028, respectively, to help companies adapt to the regulations and promote the safe development of AI.
