On May 7, 2026, Gaode Maps unveiled its plan to extend road traffic services to more than 100 college campuses across the nation, leveraging the traffic information generation capabilities of its advanced VLM large model. This innovative move allows users to monitor real-time congestion conditions at pivotal campus locations, including major thoroughfares, dormitory zones, areas surrounding dining facilities, and intersections adjacent to academic buildings. Such transparency enables data-driven and visually intuitive campus traffic management. Moreover, during adverse weather conditions or large-scale events, real-time traffic updates can serve as a valuable guide for making informed travel decisions. At present, Gaode Maps has not disclosed a definitive list of participating colleges; however, users are encouraged to explore and experience the service firsthand.
