Artificial intelligence company Scale AI has won a $500 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense to develop an "agentic AI" system for the Air Force's "Survivable Airborne Operations Center" project. The contract value has expanded fivefold compared to the $100 million deal in September 2025. The head of the company's public sector business stated that the new contract reflects the Defense Department's proactive stance on artificial intelligence. In March this year, Scale AI also collaborated with BAE Systems to integrate agentic AI capabilities into combat platforms and mission systems. Previously, Scale AI had secured multiple defense contracts.
