This week, Tencent officially rolled out its all-encompassing AI agent, WorkBuddy. Designed as a desktop AI tool, WorkBuddy boasts an impressive array of over 20 Skills packages and MCP protocols. It supports multi-window and multi-Agent parallel operations, and seamlessly integrates with OpenClaw skills, earning it the moniker ‘Tencent’s Version of Crayfish’ (a term that draws a parallel to the versatile and adaptable nature of crayfish in Chinese culinary culture, symbolizing the agent’s multifaceted capabilities).
Today, WorkBuddy underwent a significant upgrade, introducing a one-click direct connection feature for WeChat and long-link access support via WeCom. These enhancements substantially bolster the stability of social software connections. Moreover, the upgrade empowers WorkBuddy with automation capabilities, enabling it to autonomously plan execution paths and engage in self-reflection for continuous improvement, thereby automating repetitive tasks.
Zhang Jun, Tencent’s Director of Public Relations, highlighted the immense efforts poured in by the development team, noting that they have been working overtime, even during the wee hours, to refine and enhance WorkBuddy. The agent is designed to offer convenient solutions for individual creators and corporate teams alike, lowering technical barriers and alleviating cost pressures. Ultimately, WorkBuddy aims to equip professionals with their very own dedicated AI assistant, streamlining workflows and boosting productivity.
