Toyota Motor is bolstering its procurement of automotive components from Chinese firms in Thailand, its largest manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia. This strategic shift aims to boost the competitiveness of an upcoming electric vehicle model set for release in 2028 by incorporating cost-effective parts. To achieve this, Toyota has facilitated the establishment of a joint venture between Summit Group, a leading Thai parts supplier, and Wuhu Yuefei New Acoustic Materials Company from China. This collaboration will result in the construction of a factory in Thailand dedicated to the production of these parts.
