On August 1, it was reported that Tesla's car sales in France and Denmark declined for the seventh consecutive month in July, attributed to various factors such as Elon Musk's political stance, regulatory hurdles, and intensifying competition from Chinese automotive brands. According to official industry data, Tesla's sales in France plummeted by 27% year-on-year to 1,307 units, while sales in Denmark witnessed a steeper drop of 52% year-on-year, totaling 336 units. For the first six months of 2023, the brand's sales in Europe have slumped by over a third. Musk highlighted that stringent European regulations on autonomous driving have impeded the sales of the Model Y in certain countries, despite the vehicle's supervised autonomous driving feature being originally billed as a significant selling point.
