In a recent Weibo post, the Vice President of Xiaopeng Motors unequivocally denied online claims that the company is formulating a cost reduction plan for its G6 model. Xiaopeng has united its internal product, legal, and government affairs departments to address this matter, emphasizing that the implicated media outlets have a history of spreading malicious rumors. Had the news been true, it would have constituted a breach of business confidentiality. Prior to this, on July 24th, the automotive news outlet "Auto Pixel" reported that Xiaopeng was considering a cost reduction plan for the G6 due to the overlap in pricing with the newly launched G7, which starts below 200,000 yuan. This report garnered considerable attention. Xiaopeng executives assured that the legal department is actively addressing the situation, acknowledging that the process may take some time. It is noteworthy that the 2025 model of the Xiaopeng G6 was introduced in March this year, serving as one of the company's key sales models with a price range of 176,800-198,800 yuan, marking a decrease of 23,100-78,100 yuan compared to the 2024 model.
