On July 25, the 2nd Overseas Exhibition of Chinese Brand Automobiles (Chile) commenced at the Riesco Convention Center in Santiago. Leading Chinese automakers, such as Chery, Foton, XCMG, and Thalys, presented their range of fuel-efficient and new energy vehicles. Jorge Daza, Deputy Minister of Transport and Telecommunications of Chile, emphasized China's pivotal role as a partner in promoting green transportation. He projected that by early 2026, approximately 4,400 electric buses manufactured in China will be in operation in the Chilean capital. Furthermore, from January 2024 to May 2025, over 40% of the newly certified electric vehicle models in Chile hailed from China, underscoring the country's growing influence in the electric vehicle market.
