In recent years, the Russian auto market has witnessed the rise of Chinese automotive brands, which have significantly contributed to its recovery and growth, underpinned by robust supply chain guarantees. According to the latest statistics shared by Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, total auto sales in Russia soared to 1.83 million units in 2024, marking a year-on-year increase of 91% and setting a new annual sales record. However, as we enter 2025, the Russian auto market encounters challenges, with cumulative sales in the first half of the year reaching 530,385 units (approximately 600,000 units), reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 26.3% (close to 29%). Despite the prevailing market pressures, Chinese brands such as Haval and Chery continue to demonstrate formidable competitiveness.
