Uber has announced plans to invest $300 million in a strategic collaboration with Lucid Motors, a leading American electric vehicle manufacturer, to jointly roll out self-driving taxis. Under the terms of the agreement, Uber aims to deploy at least 20,000 Lucid Gravity SUVs, equipped with Nuro's cutting-edge autonomous driving technology, within a six-year timeframe. The initial deployment of these vehicles is set to commence in a major U.S. city in late 2026. The $300 million investment will be utilized by Lucid to upgrade its assembly line, enabling the seamless integration of Nuro's hardware into the vehicles.
