The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has dispatched "Wells Notices" to Faraday Future founder Jia Yueting and President Wang Jiawei, cautioning them that enforcement actions may ensue as a result of a three-year-old fraud investigation. The SEC alleges that Faraday Future made false and misleading claims during its 2021 merger with a SPAC and expresses concern over the financial transactions between the company and entities linked to Jia Yueting. Prior to this, Faraday Future had initiated an internal probe and submitted pertinent evidence to the SEC. Despite the ongoing investigation, Jia Yueting has reinforced his executive role within the company. Additionally, Faraday Future has announced the securing of $105 million in fresh financing, earmarked for accelerating new vehicle production and technological advancements.
