The Stellantis Group has announced the cessation of its hydrogen fuel cell technology development program. Citing the lack of a comprehensive hydrogen refueling infrastructure, significant capital investments required, and the absence of robust consumer incentives, the group projects that hydrogen-powered light commercial vehicles will fail to achieve widespread market adoption by 2030. Consequently, Stellantis has opted to discontinue further research and development in hydrogen fuel cell technology and has withdrawn the launch plans for associated vehicle models.
