CPCA: Pickup Exports Soar 41% Year-on-Year, Reaching 158,000 Units from January to June

On July 14, figures released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) indicated that in June 2025, pickup sales totaled 48,000 units, showcasing a 7.5% year-on-year increase despite a 7.4% month-on-month decline. Nonetheless, sales remained robust, maintaining a high level compared to the past five years. For the first half of the year (January to June), overall pickup sales amounted to 307,000 units, marking a 16.4% year-on-year growth.

In the realm of exports, June saw the shipment of 26,400 pickup trucks, representing an 18% year-on-year surge but an 8% decrease from the previous month. From January to June, cumulative pickup exports surged to 158,000 units, registering a significant 41% year-on-year increase. Regarding the proportion of exports, pickup exports accounted for 45% of total sales in 2024. This proportion jumped to 55% in June 2025, averaging 52% for the first half of the year. These statistics point to a robust growth trend in China's independent pickup exports.
