Hundreds of owners of Toyota Mirai hydrogen cars in California, United States, have filed a lawsuit against Toyota and other associated parties, alleging they misled consumers regarding the viability of the hydrogen fuel supply network. According to international media reports, the collapse of the hydrogen fuel supply infrastructure and the skyrocketing cost of hydrogen fuel have left many car owners in a precarious position, unable to use their vehicles normally while burdened with high-interest loans. Presently, California boasts only about 50 hydrogen fueling stations, which frequently encounter issues with unreliable maintenance and supply, complicating the process of refueling for car owners. Additionally, the price of hydrogen fuel has surged from roughly $70 per fill-up to nearly $200, further compounding the difficulties faced by car owners.
