Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on Wednesday that the company intends to extend its autonomous taxi service to the San Francisco Bay Area within "one to two months," pending regulatory clearance. Prior to this, Tesla had conducted a limited trial of the service in a small region of Austin, Texas, deploying just a dozen vehicles. The initial service came with numerous restrictions, notably requiring safety monitors to be present in the front seats.
