Recently, the traffic police in Sanmenxia City, Henan Province, have imposed a ban on non-standard three- and four-wheeled vehicles, often referred to as "elderly-friendly vehicles," from operating on public roads. This measure has ignited widespread public discourse. Prior to this, similar restrictions have been enacted in Beijing, Anhui, and various other regions. These vehicles, characterized by their lack of safety features, unlicensed status, and inherent risks, pose significant safety hazards and accountability challenges. Consequently, numerous local governments have opted to implement bans from a standpoint of ensuring traffic safety.
