In response to media reports on the evening of June 28, Xiaomi Automobile addressed the brake pad fire incident that occurred during track testing of the YU7 model. The incident, as confirmed by Xiaomi Automobile, took place at the Tianjin V1 Raceway. Following the completion of a warm-up lap and a flying lap, the test vehicle, the Xiaomi YU7 Max, was parked without undergoing the cooling lap. This led to the ignition of the organic material in the brake pads due to excessive heat. Xiaomi Automobile stressed that despite the visible flames, the braking system's overall functionality remained unaffected, and there were no instances of brake failure or other related issues.
