A June 25 report by the Financial Times reveals that Apple's latest in-car system, CarPlay Ultra, is encountering significant resistance from the automotive industry. As an advanced iteration of CarPlay, which was introduced three years ago and has since dominated vehicle center consoles, CarPlay Ultra offers an even deeper integration of vehicle information. However, notable automakers such as Mercedes-Benz and Audi have declared their intention not to adopt CarPlay Ultra, citing concerns about data sovereignty and user experience. Instead, some manufacturers are focusing on developing their own infotainment systems to enhance revenue streams. In response, Apple maintains that it is collaborating closely with automakers to deliver the optimal user experience.
